DIXFIELD — Funeral services for Carol L. Merrill of Dixfield were held Tuesday from the Wiles Remembrance Center with the Rev. John Gensel of the Dixfield Congregational Church officiating. Gene Fletcher offered a personal reflection and also delivered a personal eulogy written by his wife, Carol’s niece, Tricia. Special music included Eric Clapton’s rendition of “Knock, Knock, Knocking on Heaven’s Door,” Randy Travis’ “In The Garden” and “Candles In the Wind” by Elton John. Pallbearers were Brittany Merrill-Virgin, Colleen Merrill, David “JR” Merrill, Jason Merrill, Gene Fletcher and Cleon Fletcher. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery. A reception followed at her sister, Janice Merrill’s home.
