Two Democratic members of Maine’s congressional delegation recommended their picks to the Obama administration to serve as New England regional administrator for the Small Business Administration.

The names of Steven P. Minkowsky, of Orrs Island, and Seth A. Goodall, of Richmond, were forwarded by U.S. Reps. Chellie Pingree and Mike Michaud to the Obama administration for consideration.

Minkowsky served from 1980 until last year as deputy director of benefits administration at the Maine Workers Compensation Board in Augusta. He managed the Office of Monitoring, Audit and Enforcement program and served as agency legislative liaison and human resources representative.

He represented the agency before labor and appropriations committees at the state Legislature in an effort to influence Workers’ Compensation-related legislation and secure fiscal support for operations.

Goodall is an attorney at Dyer, Goodall & Denison P.A. in Augusta where he represents municipalities, small businesses and individuals in front of administrative agencies and Maine courts. He also provides strategic counsel to assist clients with regulatory, real estate and land use disputes and daily operational needs.

Goodall also serves as a state senator on the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. He also serves on the Joint Select Committee on Regulatory Reform and Fairness.
