POLAND — Bob Bolduc registered the first hole-in-one of the season at Fairlawn Golf and Country Club. Bolduc holed out on the par-3 171 yard third hole using a 5-wood. Playing partners Bob Turcotte, Derek Maynard and Norm Polley witnessed the feat.

Hunter Safety Course

HARRISON — A Hunter Safety Course will be sponsored by the Western Maine Fish and Game club at the Harrison Fire Station on Saturday, April 21, and Sunday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Students must attend both days to receive the certification. Students must be at least 10 years old, and those 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students attending the class under the age of 18 must have a parent sign the card on Saturday morning. Students are asked not to bring any weapons or live ammunition to the classes.

Class size will be limited to 40 students on a first come, first served basis. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. A $3 donation will be required per student. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

Bates hoop camp

LEWISTON — Join the Bates men’s basketball team for a great week of basketball. Improve your fundamental basketball skills, meet some of the men’s Basketball players and have fun.

These clinics will include lectures and stations with a focus on individual offensive skills. It will also include various contests to improve your skills and let you play one-on-one versus the staff. The clinic will be directed by the Bates men’s basketball team and coaching staff. Participants will be divided into groups by age, gender and skill level.

Space is limited so please sign up early. Walk-ins will be taken on a first come, first serve basis if there is room in the clinic. This clinic does not include food or meals. You can reserve a spot via email to Coach Furbush at [email protected].

Camp runs Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Cost is $100 per student.

TURNER — Turner Highlands Ladies League preseason meeting will be Thursday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at the course.

Lisbon Rec softball

LISBON — The Lisbon Rec Department will be holding an informational meeting for anyone interested in fielding or playing on a team this summer. This is an adult coed softball league. Games are on Sundays.

The meeting is 7 p.m. April 23 in Room 10 at the MTM Community Center. Please call the recreation office at 353-2289 if you have any questions.
