BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) — One person is dead after being struck and killed by a train in Biddeford, Maine.

Amtrak spokesperson Cliff Cole tells WMTW the person was trespassing on the tracks when the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Amtrak Downeaster was carrying about 55 passengers from Portland to Boston.

No one else was injured.

Cole says the passengers will stay on the train until the investigation is complete.
