AVON — Franklin County deputies are investigating burglaries on Storer Road in Avon and Taylor Hill Road in New Vineyard.
A mobile home used as a camp in Avon was broken into and trashed over the weekend, Lt. Niles Yeaton said.
The vandalized property belongs to a Franklin County resident. The damage is believed to have happened sometime Saturday or Sunday, Yeaton said.
Deputies Matthew Brann and Nate Reid are investigating the incident.
All the windows were broken out of the trailer, he said. It also appears, according to photos of the scene, the toilet and gas range were damaged and the top of a wood stove was broken, Yeaton said.
Evidence was collected at the scene.
There is no estimate of damage, but Yeaton said it would be several thousand dollars.
In a second burglary reported Monday afternoon in New Vineyard, a wooden gate at a driveway to a seasonal residence was rammed by a vehicle and broken down, Yeaton said.
Entry was gained into the residence by breaking a window, he said. Apparently there was also an unsuccessful attempt to kick open a door, he said.
Deputies Nicholas Zecher and Matthew Brann and Detective David St. Laurent responded to the report at about 3:30 p.m.
Deputies are waiting for the owner to do an inventory to determine if anything is missing, Yeaton said.
