LEWISTON — Carmen T. Laganiere, 85, of 102 Campus Ave., Lewiston, died Friday, March 2, at d’Youville Pavilion, following a long illness. She was joined with her husband, Raymond.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 12, 1926, the daughter of Romeo and Laura (Pasquale) Morin. She was educated at the former St. Mary’s School.

Following her schooling, she was employed in the local shoe industry. She was a devoted mother, wife and friend. She had a beautiful sense of humor and was a practical joker. She loved knitting, having made many quilts and loved to read. She enjoyed spending time at her camp at Taylor Pond that she and her husband had built. She also loved animals and her favorite cats.

Carmen is survived by one son, Ronald Laganiere of Gorham; one daughter, Rachel Gravel and her husband, Anthony, of Auburn; one sister, Rita Morin; and also her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond G. Laganiere, Dec. 6, 1978; and two brothers, Adrien and Roger Morin.
