The Auburn Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club donated $540 to the Auburn Public Library for the purchase of an Early Literacy iPad 2. The iPad, available in the library’s Children’s Room, may be borrowed for one week by parents with children ages 2-5 or up to age 12 for children with disabilities. This iPad is the fourth one available to parents at the library. In January, the library purchased three with a gift from an anonymous donor. All four Early Literacy iPads have 26 apps that help children learn basic literacy and mathematical skills. All of the apps have been selected by the Children’s Librarian, Debbie Cleveland, and include many of the apps used in the Auburn School Department’s kindergarten iPad initiative.
