FARMINGTON — Two of three men pleaded guilty Friday to felony charges that included robbing a couple and kidnapping the husband on Oct. 31, 2011.

Kevin Crandall, 28, of Wilton and Marcus Thompson, 26, of Farmington, each pleaded guilty to robbery, two counts of kidnapping and three counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer, according to information filed Franklin County Superior Court.

The two also had faced charges of burglary and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, but those were dismissed in a plea agreement with the state, court documents state.

Crandall and Thompson are expected to be sentenced in June.

A co-defendant in the case, Michael Kidd, 21, of Chesterville has pleaded not guilty to the crimes. He was indicted on the same charges earlier this year.

Crandall and Thompson also had previously pleaded not guilty after they were indicted on Jan. 12.

Crandall and Thompson are accused of breaking into three homes on Oct. 31 in areas near Mt. Blue High School and taking money, handguns and other items.

In one incident, a couple told police they were held at gunpoint and knives were displayed while they were being robbed. Crandall is accused of staying with the wife while her husband was taken to an ATM machine by the other two.

They also were threatened by the men, who said they would return if the couple spoke to police.

A neighbor near a Hilltop Estate home that was burglarized remembered seeing a blue car with three men inside near the home. Another burglary was reported on the Dutch Gap Road in Chesterville and one on the Lucy Knowles Road.

Police found items stolen from the homes in plain view in a blue car left in a field near the Knowlton Corner Farm that evening. A trained dog tracked Crandall and Thompson to Seamon Road where police arrested them behind the high school.

Crandall and Thompson are being held without bail at Somerset County Jail in Madison until sentencing. Kidd is being held on $30,000 cash. All three have been held in jail since their arrest.
