AUBURN — Gloria J. Maxwell, 56, a former resident of Jay, died at her home in Auburn following a longtime diabetes illness.

She was born Nov. 23, 1955, in Farmington, the daughter of Conrad J. Breton and Pauline E. (Luce) Breton. She was a graduate of Jay High School.

Gloria worked in the shoe shops and later in the cafeteria at Franklin Memorial Hospital. Gloria recently relocated to Auburn. She attended St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay.

She is survived by her parents, Conrad and Pauline Breton of Livermore Falls; her granddaughter, Kaylee Maxwell of Auburn; uncles, Melvin Luce and his wife, Linda, of Massachusetts, Linwood Luce of Chesterville and Richard Breton of Roxbury; her aunts, Janice Town and her husband, Peter, of Wells, Evelyn McCloud and her husband, Steve, of Sanford, Louise Duval and her husband, Larry, of Jay and Ann Hyek and her husband, Richard, of Georgia.

She was predeceased by her son, Richard Maxwell.
