MEXICO — Selectmen voted to hire a part-time person to help at the Mexico Recreation Park through the summer.
Town Manager John Madigan said Carlton Merrill of Mexico was chosen from 10 applicants by the Recreation Committee.
He began mowing, weeding and other maintenance activities this week. He will be paid $7.75 an hour. The position will end in early autumn.
Madigan said the board also voted to donate $25 to the local food pantry in honor of Chris Stevenson who died recently. He was the owner of C.H. Stevenson Excavators who has completed many infrastructure projects in town.
