FREEPORT — Mildred Louise Vernesoni, 90, died April 23, at the Freeport Nursing and Rehab Center, where she had resided for the past five years.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1922, in Temple, the daughter of Harry and Florence Barker Blodgett. She was educated in the schools of Temple and Farmington, graduating from Farmington High School in the Class of 1940. She graduated from Peter Bent Brigham in Boston as a registered nurse in 1943.

Upon returning home, she worked at the Franklin Memorial Hospital before going to work for Dr. Weymouth in Farmington. Later on , she worked at the Knowton McCleary print shop as a proofreader for over 10 years.

She married Julius Vernesoni on Sept. 3, 1945, in Temple; he died in 2001. She was a member of the Temple Good Neighbor Club, Temple Grange, Temple Congregational Church, American Legion Auxiliary and was a Cub Scout den leader.

She is survived by her son, Harry Vernesoni and wife, April, of Rangeley; her daughter, Diane Vernesoni of Topsham; her grandchildren, Harry Jr., Holly, Joy, Curt, Adam, Shawn and Shaney.

She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Blodgett; and her sister, Elaine Hall Averill.
