BETHEL — No one has returned nomination papers for two seats on the SAD 44 board, Town Clerk Christen Mason said.

Nomination papers were due at the town office by 5 p.m. Monday.

The seats being vacated are those of Carol Everett and Kristen Drew, Mason said. They could be filled by write-in votes, or by appointment by the Board of Selectmen after the June 12 election.

Selectman Robert Everett of the Flat Road is being challenged by Peter Southam of the Songo Pond Road. Everett is the retired owner of Bethel Auto Sales. Southam is a teacher at Gould Academy.

Elections take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 12 at Crescent Park Elementary School.
