AUBURN — Danny Rock smacked a three-run triple in a four-run fifth inning as Edward Little (2-5) shook off Mt. Ararat with a 5-3 victory in a softball game Thursday.
The Red Eddies were down 3-1 before Rock’s triple put them over the top. Kory Norcross got the win on the mound. EL spread out 11 hits, with catcher Kennedy Hubbard helping out with three hits. Melissa Paione had two.
For Mt. Ararat (2-4), Mallory Nelson punched up a two-run triple in the top of the fifth inning. The Eagles had seven hits.

Rangeley split
BUCKFIELD — Bri Darling earned a 1-0 shutout victory in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, but Rangeley proved too powerful in the nightcap as the Lakers battled back to post a 13-10 victory in Game 2 of the teams’ doubleheader.
Abby Bragg scored the lone run in the first game on an RBI flyout by Alannah Knox in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Ellie Brooks paced the Rangeley offense in Game 2 with a double, while Emily Carrier and Jenny Abbott also rapped multiple hits for the Lakers. Chantel Carrier was the pitcher of record for both contests for Rangeley. Darling took the loss in Game 2 for the Bucks.
Oxford Hills 10, Brunswick 1
PARIS — Jordan Sanborn ripped a two-run triple in a five-run third inning as Oxford Hills overpowered Brunswick, 10-1 in a softball game Thursday.
Crystal West threw a one-hitter, striking out nine batters and giving up two walks. She smacked a two-run double.
Sanborn had two hits and catcher Angel Witham had three hits.
Erskine 11, Lewiston 0
SOUTH CHINA — Ashley Green scattered four hits and drew ample run support as Erskine cruised to a 11-0 win over Lewiston in KVAC softball action Thursday.
Hannah Welch and Taylor Boucher led the Eagles with three hits and one RBI each, while Green helped her own cause with a pair of hits. Alison Gauvin also contributed with an RBI-double.
Hall-Dale 9, Telstar 1
BETHEL — Taking advantage of every passed ball and walk it could muster, Hall-Dale pounced on a slightly inexperienced Telstar squad Thursday and came away with a 9-1 victory.
The Bulldogs (3-2) built a 5-1 advantage in the first two frames and were never challenged. Ellie Shepherd belted an RBI double in the second inning to help her team pull away. The Rebels (2-2) saw seven strikeouts from pitcher Jessica Dirago, who went the distance and took the loss. With eight of nine runs unearned, this was a bit of a cakewalk for Hall-Dale.

Oxford Hills 4
PARIS — Haley Michaud scored six goals and teammate Rowley Jones added two as Mt. Ararat rolled to a 10-4 victory over Oxford Hill (4-1) in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.
The Eagles built a quick 7-2 lead by halftime.
For Oxford Hills, Danielle Allen, Joanna Murch, Abby Morton and Kristen Gamache each scored a goal.
Cony 17, EL 9
AUBURN — Mia Diplock scored six goals while Chelsea Begin added five as Cony overpowered Edward Little 17-9 in KVAC girls’ lacrosse action Thursday.
Bayliegh Logan netted a pair of goals for the undefeated Rams (5-0), while single tallies by Renee Dugall, Heather Leet, Josie Lee and Lexi Dostie completed the scoring.
Allarie Lever led the Red Eddies (2-3) with three goals, while Gabby LaPerriere chipped in with two. Taylor Landry, Shelby Russell, Madison Williams and Taylor Berube also tallied to complete the scoring.
Katrina Duncan made seven saves for Cony, while Paige Landry turned aside 12 shots in the cage for Edward Little.
