LEWISTON — The final of four Republican state Senate candidate forums will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 46 Cedar St. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for crepes and beverages in the lower level.
The six candidates will be available to meet the public informally from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by their participation in a forum in the upper performance area. Questions for the candidates can be submitted in advance at www.gopforme.com, or at the door before the program begins.
The public is welcome and there is no admission charge. The event is sponsored by the GOP committees of Androscoggin, Oxford and Franklin counties.
The candidates are seeking the U.S. Senate seat held by Sen. Olympia Snowe, who announced earlier this year that she would not seek re-election. The primary election to select the GOP candidate is June 12.
Candidates are Attorney General William Schneider, Secretary of State Charles Summers, State Treasurer Bruce Poliquin, state Sen. Debra Plowman, Richard Bennett of Oxford and Scott D’Amboise of Lisbon.
