Invited to parade
LEWISTON — Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment 810 welcomes all Marines and FMF Corpsmen to march with the detachment in the Memorial Day parade on Saturday, May 26.
Anyone joining the parade should meet at Kennedy Park between 9 and 9:15 a.m.
The detachment will hold a fundraiser on Saturday, May 12, in front of Walmart in Auburn.
The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 31, at American Legion Hall Post 31.
Plant, bake sale
AUBURN — St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 78 Pleasant St., is having a book/bake/plant sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12. Proceeds will benefit local outreach programs.
Seniors to meet
AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m Wednesday, May 16, at the Hasty Community Center. Don Nason, president, will conduct. The board of directors will meet at 10 a.m.
Meal tickets will be sold for the luncheon on June 20. The cost is $5. Lucien Marcoux will prepare the meal. Dessert will be ice cream sundaes.
Chaplain Pat Donohue and her assistants will conduct the annual memorial service. A bag lunch and bingo will follow.
Members met May 2 at Martindale Country Club for the anniversary banquet. Mitch Thomas entertained with a musical program.
Winners of the pot of gold were Lennie Godbout, Callie Adams, George Herrick, Lucien Marcoux, Cecile Bourgoine, Carmela Hewitt, Beatrice Brooks, Gerri Lunt, Jayne Poole and Madge Gardner.
Legion to install
LEWISTON — American Legion Post 22 and Auxiliary will hold installation of officers for the 2012-2013 year at its membership meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Multi-Purpose Center, 145 Birch St.
Post 22 will also award scholarships to those who are attending a school of higher learning this fall. Certificates of 50- and 60-year memberships will also be awarded.
The Auxiliary will serve a lunch. All attending must have a paid-up membership card for the year 2012.
