PERU — Town Clerk Vera Parent told the Board of Selectmen on Monday night that there is only one delinquent taxpayer who has not responded to her notices.

Parent said most people have come to the town office and made payments.

“Some make monthly payments and others pay yearly” she said. “I am urging those who are delinquent to make regular payments and I want to see all of the 09-10 taxes paid off soon,” Parent added.

“I will be sending registered letters for all 2011-2012 delinquents before I put a lien on the property,” Parent told the board. She said there are 20 people on the list.

Road Commissioner Joe Roach said he was putting together a document that will contain an emergency action plan and a hazard mitigation plan.

He said he had replaced some street signs.

Board Chairman Tim Holland asked Roach if there was a speed limit sign on Pleasant Street.

Roach said there was not.

Holland said if nothing was posted, the speed limit is 45 mile per hour.

Roach said he would determine if there had been a speed limit sign before, since the state sets the limits.

The board approved tree growth applications for Michael LaFlamme on Dickvale and Mary Turner roads and for Larry Bovitz of Dickvale Road.
