OXFORD — Selectmen approved two more articles to the town meeting warrant Thursday, both involving the Property Assessed Clean Energy program through Efficiency Maine.
The PACE program provides loans to Maine residents for energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. For a resident to participate in the program, which is administered by Efficiency Maine, their town must pass the ordinance.
Town Manager Michael Chammings said some Oxford residents are interested in pursuing PACE loans. Selectmen unanimously approved adding the articles to the warrant for the June 9 town meeting.
The board approved a request for a toll booth fundraiser at the King Street and Skeetfield Road to benefit Oxford Fire and Rescue. Selectmen expressed concern about the town’s liability for people standing in the road to collect tolls, but ultimately approved the booth.
Selectmen also approved putting out an advertisement for people who want to serve on a governing board for the Oxford Helping Hands Food Pantry. The pantry is applying for nonprofit organization status, which requires a governing board. Chammings said board members need not be Oxford residents, as the pantry serves several towns.
