RUMFORD — Mary Caron had an opportune two-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to lift St. Dom’s to a 6-5 triumph over Mountain Valley in MVC softball action Friday.
Delaney Patterson launched a solo shot to close the gap in the bottom of the seventh for the Falcons (5-6). But only one more run would follow as Mountain Valley suffered the loss.
Shannon Laubauskas recorded three hits for the Falcons.
Brooke Dolloff and Karissa Murphy tagged a double each for the Saints.
Lisbon 13, Carrabec 1
SALEM — Brooke Lawrence recorded a pair of hits and two RBIs to pace Lisbon to a 13-1 victory over Carrabec in softball action Friday.
Kimber Morse struck out seven, gave up four hits and walked just one to earn the mound win for the Greyhounds (7-3). Arianna Kahler also contributed a pair of hits for Lisbon.
Chantal Diamond had two singles for the Cobras. And the pitcher, Ashlee Knight, singled to drive in the only Carrabec run.
Medomak Valley 5, Leavitt 0
WALDOBORO — Desiree Benner fanned 11 batters as Medomak Valley took a 5-0 victory over Leavitt in KVAC softball action Friday.
All five of the Panthers’ (12-1) runs were unearned as the Hornets (8-3) committed eight errors in the game.
Sarah Enos and Adrie Newton recorded a double each for Leavitt.
Amanda Hendrikson had a double for Medomak Valley.
Lewiston 15, Mt. Blue 6
FARMINGTON — Winning pitcher Erica Brochu drove in five runs and Meagan Mathon ripped a two-run triple in the second inning as Lewiston walloped Mt. Blue, 15-6, in a softball game Friday.
The Blue Devils (2-10) cruised to a 9-0 lead after three innings and pounded out 15 hits for the day.
Mathon also drove in three runs and teammates Cleo Miller, Michelle Maila and Brochu had three hits apiece. Mt. Blue could only muster three hits.
Oceanside 10, Oak Hill 1
THOMASTON — Oceanside (10-1) used seven hits and three doubles to overwhelm Oak Hill (7-6) with a 10-1 victory in a softball game Friday.
The Mariners’ Kennadi Grover, Natalie Russell and Hannah Hersom each doubled.
Raiders pitcher Kortni Michaud smacked a one-run double in the first inning.
Telstar 17, Boothbay 5
BETHEL — Telstar batters took advantage of 11 walks, collected seven hits and scored runs in every inning to down Boothbay 17-5 in five innings in MVC softball.
Jessica Dirago notched the victory while pacing the Rebels (5-5) with a double and a single. Dirago scatted six hits, walked two, and struck out six Boothbay (0-11) hitters in the win.
Edward Little 12, Lawrence 2
FAIRFIELD — Edward Little pounded out 16 hits, including six in a five-run second inning, to blast Lawrence 12-2 in softball action.
Emily Schario scattered two hits while striking out eight from the pitchers circle. The hurler also collected three hits in the victory.
Six other Red Eddies (5-9) each had a pair of hits, including Ashlee Arnold and Brooke Reynolds who doubled and singled. Kelsey Butcher had three RBIs on a pair of singles.
Bangor 12, Oxford Hills 0
BANGOR — Bangor took advantage of four Oxford Hills errors and Lexus Stanhope gave up only one hit as the Rams blanked the Vikings 12-0 in a softball matchup.
Stanhope, Canland, and Cosgrove all had a pair of hits for Bangor (11-2). Canland doubled and Cosgrove tripled in the victory. Ashely West had the lone hit for Oxford Hills (8-3).
Dirigo 13, Winthrop 1
WINTHROP — Dirigo collected 12 hits to collect a 13-1 victory over Winthrop in an MVC softball clash.
Natalie Bolduc paced the Cougars (6-6) with three singles. Alyssa Charity added a single and a double, and Tasha DeRoche also contributed with a pair of singles. Ambyr Wilson scattered six hits while striking out eight batters in the victory.
