AUBURN — Minnie N. Bowker, 83, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, May 20, following a short illness, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her family at her side.

She was born in North New Portland, Nov. 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Leslie Linn Dyer and Lora Agnes (Luce) Dyer.

On July 26, 1946, she married William Ernest Bowker Sr. in Rangeley. Together they lived in various parts of Maine including Auburn, Rangeley and Turner as they raised their young family until William’s death in 1975.

She was a loving homemaker to her family who enjoyed knitting, crafts, reading, but who most of all loved time spent with her grandchildren. She was a very family orienated, loving and caring person who was always thinking of others first.

Minnie is survived by three children, Christine Howard-Fortin of Turner, James Bowker and his wife, Vicky, of Lewiston and Marie Brown and her husband, Robert, of Torrington, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Methyl Wilbur of Florida; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William Ernest Bowker Sr.; two sons, William Ernest Bowker Jr. and Linn Arthur Bowker; three brothers, Carroll, Donald and Cecil Dyer.
