Lewiston Public Works crews prepare the front lawn of the Lewiston Armory on Central Avenue for parking spaces Tuesday morning, as part of a $380,000 renovation. The city’s seniors programs are moving from the Multi-Purpose Center on Birch Street to the armory. In addition to the parking spaces on Central Avenue and Vale Streets, the city will turn Vale Street from Sabattus to Central into a one-way street. Other renovations to the armory include an elevator, a senior entrance on the Vale Street side and soundproofing.
