TOPSHAM —  Nate Pushard hurled seven innings of one-hit baseball Wednesday as Edward Little made quick work of Mt. Ararat, 8-0, in a KVAC tilt.
Pushard struck out 10 batters while posting his second win of 2012.
The Red Eddies (8-7) were paced by Nate Blais with two hits and three runs scored. John Simpson also contributed with two RBIs.
Mt. Blue 4,
Hampden 0
FARMINGTON —  Nick Hilton scattered three hits and a walk as Mt. Blue hustled to a 4-0 victory over Hampden in a late-season KVAC baseball tilt Wednesday.
Matt Crowley led the Cougars (5-9) with an RBI double, while Chris Wells belted an RBI single.
Hilton and Cam Abbott also contributed with sacrifice flies for Mt. Blue.
Spruce Mountain 8, Mountain Valley 7
RUMFORD —  Brandon Hodges belted an RBI double in the sixth inning to lift Spruce Mountain to a 8-7 victory over Mountain Valley in a MVC baseball matchup Wednesday.
Hodges led the Phoenix (9-5) with three hits and four RBIs. Evan Castonguay and Jake Bessey chipped in with three hits apiece, while Pat Ryan also pounded out two hits.
The Falcons (6-7) were paced by Adam Volkernick with four hits, while Josh Rainey belted three.
Spruce Mountain held a 5-2 advantage until Mountain Valley revved up and scored five runs in the fourth frame.
Lisbon 4,
Monmouth 0
MONMOUTH — Kyle Bourget tossed a four-hit shutout and ripped a pair off hits to lead Lisbon to a 4-0 win over Monmouth in MVC baseball action Wednesday.
Bourget struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter while going the distance for the Greyhounds (6-7).
Jo Osmond cracked two doubles and Aaron Boyington chipped in with a pair of hits for Lisbon.
Kyle Fletcher ripped a double among his two hits and Evan Bowers also had two hits for the Mustangs (3-10).
Oxford Hills 6, Brunswick 1
BRUNSWICK —   Junior catcher Jordan Croteau plated a pair of runs in the sixth to lead Oxford Hills to a 6-1 victory over Brunswick in KVAC baseball action Wednesday.
John Parker was pitching well for Brunswick, tossing a one-hitter through the first five innings.
But the Vikings (9-5) slayed the Dragons (2-13) with a five-run sixth.
Sophomore Riley Chickering walked eight, but received fine defensive support with three double plays.
St. Dom’s 17, Boothbay 0
BOOTHBAY HARBOR —   Five different pitchers tossed a single inning, collectively striking out 11, and walking none for a perfect game as St. Dom’s notched a 17-0 victory over Boothbay in MVC baseball action Wednesday.
Matt Roy doubled in a pair of runs in the seven-run third inning for the Saints (11-4). Joe Bryant cleared the bases with a triple in the fifth frame for St. Dom’s.
Dirigo 8, Mt. Abram 2
DIXFIELD —   T.J. Frost provided a solo shot during an eight-run two-inning  frenzy as Dirigo took an 8-2 victory over Mt. Abram in MVC baseball action Wednesday.
Spencer Trenoweth struck out five and gave up only two hits on four innings of mound work for the Cougars (13-1).
Dirigo had a five-run fifth inning to put the game out of the Roadrunners’ (3-10) reach.
Josh Beedy and Cal Dixon recorded one double each for Mt. Abram.
Poland 14,
Lake Region 2
NAPLES —   C.J. Martin and Pat Summers recorded two hits apiece as Poland galloped to a 14-2 triumph over Lake Region in WMC baseball action Wednesday.
Kaleb Bridgham registered a triple for Poland, while Jake Simard picked up the win on the mound.
Leavitt 11, Oak Hill 2
TURNER — Tyler Hutchinson smacked a two-run double in the second inning and catcher Brian Hiscock followed with this two-run double in the third as Leavitt landed on Oak Hill (3-11) with an 11-2 victory in a baseball game Wednesday.
Hiscock also belted a solo home run, had three hits for the day and threw two base runners out at second base.
Hutchinson and Matt Bilodeau each had two hits for the Hornets (8-6).
Mike Smith got the win on the mound before being relieved in the fourth inning.
Lacrosse
Camden Hills 18,
Mt. Blue 3
FARMINGTON —   Nick Linscott scored an impressive six goals to lead Camden Hills to an 18-3 victory over Mt. Blue in boy’s lacrosse action Wednesday.
Max Mercer and Will Clap tallied four and three goals, respectively, for the Windjammers.
Ryan Rouillard netted a pair of goals, while J.T Williams collected a single tally to round out all of the points the Cougars could muster.
Goalie John Andrews had eight saves for Mt. Blue.
Gardiner 16, Mountain Valley 2
RUMFORD —  Walter Bailey netted three goals Wednesday and Justin Lovely added two as Gardiner overpowered Mountain Valley in boy’s lacrosse action.
Tyler Jamison chipped in for the Tigers (9-1) with two goals, while single tallies from Keegan Smith, Seth Wing and Josh Caldwell completed the scoring.
The Falcons (3-8) received goals from Kyle Duguay, Tucker Phelps and Nate Nicols.
Oak Hill 13, Morse 12
WALES —  Kyle Flaherty found the net with 49 seconds left in regulation to lift Oak Hill to a 13-12 win over Morse in more KVAC boy’s lacrosse action Wednesday.
Caleb Provost and Jon Averil led the Raiders with three goals each, while Trever Samson also recorded a hat trick with one assist. Flaherty finished with a pair of goals in a balanced attack.
Alex Paulus led the Shipbuilders with four goals and one assist. Dylan Crowell and Matt Buczkowski chipped in with two goals apiece, while Zach Hersey added two goals and one assist.
Matty Martin made 16 saves for Oak Hill, while Alex Small turned aside nine shots in the cage for Morse.
