MONMOUTH — Kimber Morse scattered five hits and walked just one as Lisbon squeaked by Monmouth 4-0 in a MVC softball tilt Wednesday.
Haley Eck led the Greyhounds (8-4) with a two-run single. Chantal Bisson, Arianna Kahler, Brooke Lawrence and Kailin Hill also contributed with one hit each.
Sabrina Beck and Daisy Poole led the Mustangs with two hits apiece.
Madison 12, Telstar 0
MADISON — Emily Mckenney hurled a two-hitter and drew tons of run support to help Madison secure a 12-0 win over Telstar.
The Bulldogs (12-2) erupted for seven runs in the third inning, sparked by a two-run single from Kayla Belanger.
Alex Jarvais also contributed with an RBI single for Madison.
Jessica Dirago went the distance for Telstar (6-7) but picked up the loss.
Oxford Hills 15, Brunswick 0
BRUNSWICK — Crystal West hurled six innings of two-hit softball Wednesday and drew tons of run support as Oxford Hills blistered Brunswick 15-0 in more late-season softball action.
Breanna Martin led the Vikings (10-4) with three hits and four RBIs, highlighted by a two-run home run in the fifth. Ashley West chipped in with three hits and two RBIs, while Ashley Bernier and Anna Winslow pounded out two hits in a well-balanced attack.
Kelly Bridges paced the Dragons with both of their hits, while Rachel Mooney handled pitching duties.
Mountain Valley 8, Spruce Mountain 5
RUMFORD — Brooke Dolloff ignited a four-run rally in the third frame to propel Mountain Valley to a 8-5 upset victory over Spruce Mountain in an MVC matchup Wednesday.
Dolloff led the Falcons (6-7) with three hits and two RBIs, including a two-run double in that key third inning. Shannon Laubauskas also contributed with two hits andf one RBI, while Hanna LaPointe pounded out three hits.
The Phoenix (10-4) were paced by veteran Kathryn Ventrella with four hits and one RBI, while Casidee Couture belted out three hits.
Dirigo 4, Mt. Abram 0
DIXFIELD — Alyssa Wade hurled a one-hitter Wednesday as Dirigo cruised to a 4-0 victory over Mt. Abram in an MVC softball matchup.
Wade helped her own cause with an RBI double for the Cougars (8-6), while Natalie Bolduc pounded out two hits.
Mt. Ararat 10,
Edward Little 7
TOPSHAM — Senior center fielder Shauna Williams crushed a three-run double in a six-run sixth inning as Mt. Ararat grabbed a 10-7 victory over Edward Little in KVAC softball action Wednesday.
Senior second baseman Melissa Paione had a three-run home run in the first inning as the Red Eddies (5-9) took an early 4-0 lead.
Edward Little led 7-3 going into the bottom of the sixth inning. Williams put the Eagles (5-9) to within a run with her three-run double, and scored the tying run.
Junior catcher Taylor Pare provided a solo shot for Mt. Abram in the winning effort.
Lake Region 8,
Poland 4
NAPLES — Emily Bartlett went 3-for-3 and plated four runs as did teammate Kristina Morton to fuel Lake Region to an 8-4 victory over Poland in WMC softball action Wednesday.
The Knights (7-7) led from the first inning, until the Lakers’ (7-7) five-run fifth knocked them off their horse. Shortstop Lindsay Theriault went 2-for-4 and posted four RBIs, including a home run for Poland in the losing effort.
