Something entirely new in local motorboat racing annals will be the automatic handicap race, which, if all goes well, will take place at Lake Auburn, Thursday afternoon at 4 o’clock. It also will be the first boat club event of this year. In the race may be entered power boats of all sizes and horse power. All start at the crack of the pistol and will follow a short course. When the first boat crosses the line another signal will be given, and all boats will turn and retrace the course. The main restriction is that the boats go no faster when going out than when coming back, or vice versa.

Replacement of a section of main that carries water from Lake Auburn to Lewiston residents is progressing right on schedule, Lewiston Water Division Supt. Norman J. Cyr, said Friday. Nearly 3,000 feet of the new 24-inch main is being installed. Lewiston water crews began the major project two weeks ago at the intersection of Turner and Center Streets. They should be making the turn onto Cushing Street in Great Falls Plaza by the middle or end of next week.
