HERMON — Max Ater of Bath was declared the fourth winner of the Maine’s Got Talent competition, sponsored by the Miss Maine Scholarship Program, on May 6 at the Morgan Hill Event Center.
Ater won a $500 cash prize and additional performance opportunities. He sang “Back to Romance,” an original song while accompanying himself on the keyboard.
Boomshop, a barbershop quartet from Jackson comprised of Merton Dana, Cay Outerbridge, Colby Hinson and John Peotie, placed first runner-up. Singing “Natural Woman” and placing second runner-up was Ali Stauble of Portland.
The finalists, which included dancers, vocalists, instrumentalists and a freestyle beat boxer of all ages and styles of music, were determined by DVD/VHS submissions.
Ater will be a featured performer at the Miss Maine Scholarship Pageant finals on Saturday, June 15, at Crooker Theater at Brunswick High School.
