AUBURN —  Lorraine C. Cloutier, 87, formerly of Roak Block and Greene, died Tuesday, May 29, at Clover Manor Nursing Home where she lived for the past several years.

Born in Rumford, on July 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Felix and Alice Normandeau Pelletier, she was educated in Lewiston schools.

She was married to Oliva Cloutier, who died Jan. 30, 1989.

Mrs. Cloutier was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Francis Catholic Church , Horizon 55 and Covenant 50. She worked at local shoe factories, W.T. Grant, and Porteous.

She enjoyed beano, cards, travel, music, concerts, plays, bird watching, animals, her flower gardens, the Red Sox and time spent with her family and friends. In her younger days, she enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with her husband. She served as Captain of a bowling league and proudly displayed her many awards and trophies.

Our mom will be remembered for her bright smile, her quick wit and her warm heart. We fondly remember her handiwork: the sewing of childhood outfits, prom gowns, wedding and bridesmaid dresses, as well as the warm winter mittens and hats, which she lovingly fashioned.

Mom patiently spent hours playing games with her children and grandchildren. She was very devoted to her family and was always there for their needs, however big or small.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Charron and husband, Alphonse (Al), of York, and Linda Barajas and husband, Rafael (Raf), of Auburn; a son, James Cloutier and wife, Holly, of Greene; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Steven, Joel, Sasha, Denise and Jenessia; three great-grandchildren, Brook, Brandon and Croix.

The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate and dedicated staff of Clover Manor and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice who helped them in her journey.
