BUCKFIELD — Buckfield tuned up for the Class D playoffs Thursday with a regular season-ending softball sweep of Class C Traip, 14-1 and 15-3.

The Bucks (10-6) took advantage of 13 walks in the opener, combined with eight hits. Hannah Gallant and Dakota Warren each had two singles.

Brianna Darling was the winning pitcher. She allowed four hits over the six-inning route, striking out four.

Buckfield broke out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning of each game. The Bucks ended the nightcap with six runs in the bottom of the fifth to invoke the mercy rule.

Darling and Amber Arsenault shared the pitching duties, with Arsenault working the three middle frames to earn the victory.

Allanna Knox had three hits and Arrabine Dunn a double and two singles to lead the Bucks. Courtney Lowell and Elizabeth Strout each smacked two singles in the 14-hit attack.

Kaylie Andrews and Mary Kennison pitched for the Rangers (0-15).
