May 1912 will go down in the annuals of the Lewiston Fire Department as a remarkable month. Thruout the 31 days, not a single bell alarm from a box has been sounded in the city. Residents of the Lisbon Street area between Garnett and Androscoggin avenues will see an effort to preserve their Ward 5 neighborhoods under the city’s proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The newly created zone is designed to preserve established neighborhoods and encroaching development.
