LEWISTON — City crews reopened Wiseman Bridge on Chestnut Street  about 3:15 p.m. Friday several hours after a Pepsi truck got stuck when it hit the top stanchion.

Crews from Maine Department of Transportation responded to the site along with city crews. The bridge spans the city’s canals.

In an unrelated incident, just after 1:15 p.m. downtown traffic started backing up at Lisbon and Cedar streets, because city employees were repairing a sinkhole on Lisbon Street.

By nightfall, the hole was repaired and traffic was moving normally.
