This is in response to the feature story May 27 about methadone users and methadone clinics.
What an insult to the hardworking people of Maine to learn that we are supporting addicts. The methadone clinics must be closed.
We are aiding addicts. Apparently, the program is not successful in clearing out the users.
Let them form groups and follow a set of rules.
No wonder people are coming to Maine. We are supporting the lifestyle they want.
Meanwhile, our veterans are shortchanged.
Without money, addicts would have to address their problems the same as the rest of us do — go without or make do.
