NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Music and Performing Arts Association welcomes you to  Sluckup Inn and Antique Shoppe, in Sluckup, Pa., where tomorrow there will be a political rally in support of Sen. “Honest” Gabe Sandalson, who’s running for president.

The rally will be hosted by Chauncy (“If it’s old, I want my hands on it!”) Quince, owner of the inn.

OHMPAA’s second show of the 2012 season, “The Senator Wore Pantyhose,” will be presented June 14-24 at Norway Grange Theater on Whitman Street. Evening performances are at 8 o’clock, with 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday.

All is not well with Gabe’s campaign. People find his honesty off-putting. He dresses too well. His hair is too neat. Manager Tom Gordon has been tasked with  “roughening” up his candidate.

Gabe is also trying to curry the favor of a nationally known televangelist and his wife, who have an agenda of their own.

The preacher insists on meeting Gabe’s wife, who isn’t on this trip, so a replacement must be found. One is found and, of course, the senator’s real wife shows up at the least convenient moment.

Meanwhile, two escaped felons are at the inn, trying to find the loot they stashed there 10 years ago, but can’t remember where they hid it.

And, to add to the chaos, national news crews show up at the inn.

The cast includes OHMPAA regulars Steve Sessions, an actor and carpenter; Cindy Reedy, who recently celebrated her 25th year as a teacher at Hebron Academy; Ian Griffith of Lewiston; Rachael Leighton, a reformed “techie;” and Chris Alberi, home from his first year at Plymouth State University.

Performing for a second time with OHMPAA are Dennis Boyd, choral music instructor at Oxford Hills High and Middle schools; and Claire Cummings, who will be head back to Wellesley College in the fall.

New to the OHMPAA stage are Collin Miclon, from Oddfellow Theater, Mike Porter, who has built sets for several OHMPAA shows; and singer Ron Blake, who recently decided to branch out into acting.

Tickets for all performances of “The Senator Wore Pantyhose” are available at Books N Things on Main Street.
