Social Security seminar June 19

New assault support group

PARIS — Beginning in September, Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services, known in Oxford County, Bridgton and Harrison as REACH, will begin a new support group for women who have experienced sexual assault, whether that was as children or adults, recently or in the past.

The group will meet weekly in the South Paris/Bridgton area for 20 weeks, at no cost. The dates and times of the meetings will be based on the availability of participants.

The group will be based on the book, “The Courage to Heal,” by Laura Davis. Anyone interested in becoming part of the new women’s support group should contact the REACH office, 743-9777.

REACH staff will meet individually in June and July with women interested in learning more about the support group.

SeniorsPlus visit

GREENWOOD — SeniorsPlus will be at the Greenwood Town Office from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 13, to answer questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

Cryptogram winners

PARIS — Winners of May’s Paris Public Library’s Cryptogram Challenge were Beverly Kerry, placing first, and Phyllis Dow,  second.

The next challenge will be on Monday, June 25. The time has been changed to 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome.
