LEWISTON — Nicholas Robert Pilote, 30, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, June 6, at his residence after a valiant battle with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

He was born in Lewiston, March 22, 1982, Nick was the beloved son of Louise Pilote and Robert Tancrede. He was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 2000.

Nick held several jobs in the community, working for Hannaford, ICT, and most recently, Papa John’s Pizza. He loved the outdoors, and could often be found biking, visiting the ocean, stargazing, or just enjoying the company of his good friends, Jon and Joe Anctil, and Rick Libby.

He collected martial arts weapons and memorabilia. An adventuresome spirit, Nick was open to new experiences and activities, such as skydiving with his cousin Rachel. He was a well-versed and well-read young man who could engage in conversation on almost any topic imaginable. His smile and gentle way will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Nick is survived by his parents; his grandmother, Jeannine Cote; a brother, John Tancrede and his wife, Corey; a sister, Corina Tancrede, and her companion, Clark Bell, all of Lewiston; nine uncles, including William Pilote and his companion, Carl Cicone, of Friendship, Eugene Pilote and his wife, Marion, of Poland, Guy Pilote and his wife, Sue, of Lewiston, Ronald Cote and his wife, Mary, of Greene, Reggie Cote and his wife, Louise, of Manchester Roger Cote and his wife, Jeanne, of Wells, Richard Cote and his companion, David, of Baltimore, Md., Frank Cote and his wife, Rumiko, of San Pedro, Calif., and Mark Cote and his companion, Sea, of Seattle, Wash.; five aunts, including Pauline Eby, of Cheverly, Md., Jacqueline Eschle and her husband, John, of Groton, Mass., Susan Shaw and her husband, Eben, of Turner, Pauline Boucher of Lewiston and Calvin White and her husband, Gordon, of Burlington, Vt.; and 47 cousins.

Nick was predeceased by his sister, Renee Jeannette Pilote-Tancrede, in 1994.
