On Father’s Day, many churches in Maine are going to send around a second collection plate to raise money to help the campaign against same-sex marriage.
Do those churches send a second collection plate to raise money for the homeless, or for battered women?
I don’t know, but I do know that Father’s Day is not meant to spread hate. It is meant to show love to the man or men who raised you and loved you.
If anyone attends a church that is doing this, I would suggest that they write a note of love to place into the collection basket instead of a donation that would support hate.
