LEWISTON — Ronald R. Charpentier, 74, of Lewiston, passed away on June 7, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lewiston, Oct. 13, 1937, a son of the late Dominique and Annette (Turmel) Charpentier. He attended local schools and following high school graduation, he went on to college in Vermont, and received his master’s in theological studies.
He became a member of the Brothers of The Sacred Heart and taught geography, math and science at several Catholic schools for 22 years, including St. Peters School in Lewiston. He received permission to leave the brotherhood from the Pope to return to Lewiston to care for his ailing mother.
He worked at Union Camp as a machine operator, until his illness forced him to retire. He was also a member of Prince of Peace Parish.
Ronald is survived by his sister, Dolores Brooks and her husband, Francis, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Richard Charpentier.
