AUBURN — Memorial services honoring the life of Barbara D. Snowe were held Sunday at the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son, with the Rev. Russell Peppe officiating. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Barbara’s husband, Carlton Snowe, who spoke of his admiration of his wife of 72 years and the happiness they shared together every day as a couple. Barbara’s daughter, Gretchen Bly recited the poem titled a “Mother’s Love” by Helen Stevens Rice. Barbara’s daughter-in-law, U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe shared what an usually close relationship that she shared with her mother-in-law over the years, as well as her admiration of Barbara as an astute business women. Also sharing words of remembrance were Barbara’s granddaughters, Jodi Mann and Heidi Peachey. At the conclusion of the services, all were invited to Barbara and Carlton’s home in Auburn for a reception of fellowship. Burial was private in the family lot at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
