Sophomore fundraiser

LEWISTON — The Lewiston High School sophomore class will hold a cookout, car wash and yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, June 15, through Sunday, June 17, at the school’s track area.

Donations are welcome. A drop-off day will be Wednesday, June 13.

The cookout will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Devil’s plate includes chips, drink and choice of either a hamburger or two hot dogs for $5.

Car wash is $5.

Students wanting to volunteer should contact Paige Clabby.

Root Cellar silent auction

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Root Cellar will present “Get your beach on” silent auction at 6 p.m. Friday, June 15, at The Green Ladle, 156 East Ave.

There will be food, live music, live and silent auctions and more. Tickets are $10 adults, $5 kids, and will be sold at the Root Cellar, 89 Birch St. or by contacting 782-3659 or chris@therootcellar.org.

Eastern Star group to meet

AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St. A pot luck supper will take place at 6 p.m.

The group will be honoring fathers; The Rainbow Girls will put on a Father’s Program.

All Eastern Star members are welcome.

YWCA camp reunion

LINCOLNVILLE — Tanglewood 4H Camp will host a YWCA Camp alumni reunion from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16.

Anyone who was a camper, counselor, staff member, relative or friend at Camp Tanglewood between 1939 and 1972 is invited to participate in a day of reminiscing, sharing stories and discovery. The 4-H Camp will provide snacks and lunch, but preregistration and a $5 donation for lunch is encouraged.

Participants in the reunion are encouraged to bring photos and memorabilia which they can share.

Girl’s State students from Poland

POLAND — Rising seniors from Poland Regional High School, Johanna Moody and Deirdre Ball, will represent PRHS at Girl’s State this year. Girl’s State’s 66th year is to be held in Bangor at Husson University, from June 17-22.

Rebekahs to meet June 18

AUBURN — Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will gather at 5 p.m. Monday, June 18, for its annual dine out, this year at Mac’s Grill, 1052 Minot Ave.

The last meeting of the lodge before the summer break will be at the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs Home, 85 Caron Lane, at 7 p.m. Second nominations of officers will take place. Flag Day will be observed. All Rebekahs are invited.

Pickwick Club meeting

AUBURN — The Pickwick Club, a Charles Dickens discussion group, will meet in the Community Room at the Auburn Public Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23.
