LEWISTON — Jacqueline Louise Mailhot, 76, of 26 Caron St., Lewiston, died peacefully Tuesday, June 12, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, Sept. 18, 1935, the daughter of Lucien “Paul” and Emelina Desjardins Raymond. She was raised, after her parent’s death, by her godmother, Marie Anna Desjardins. She was educated in Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1954. She graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1957. She worked as a nursing supervisor caring for those at St. Mary’s and d’Youville for many years prior to tending to the books for the family business.

On May 29, 1965, she married Roger Mailhot. She was a communicant of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She was involved with church groups throughout the years, notable The Ladies of Ste. Anne.

Her greatest joy in life was being surrounded by family and friends. She enjoyed spending time at the family camp on Taylor Pond, traveling, listening to classical music, playing cards and bingo. She was always enthusiastic and full of life.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Roger Mailhot; their children, Julie and Randy Herrick of Mechanic Falls, Rachel and Brent Reiche of Saco, Chantal and Andre Brousseau of Wells, Marc and Darlene Mailhot of Lewiston; and her seven grandchildren.
