BUCKFIELD — Residents will gather in the Buckfield Junior-Senior High School Auditorium at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 16, to act on the remaining 38 articles of the town warrant.

The selectmen recommend a budget of $1,755,165 to operate the town. The taxpayers will also vote raising $1,402,251 for the RSU 10 budget, which was passed on June 12.

The largest item in the proposed budget is $526,105 for summer roads. Other major items are administration at $215,785, debt service at $192,280, Fire Department at $153,065, Solid Waste Transfer Station at $150,465, Rescue Department at $135,765, and winter roads at $130,370.

Selectmen are recommending no money for social services. This article, which raises funds for non-government agencies that furnish services to residents, frequently receives the most debate at town meetings.
