LIVERMORE FALLS —   Since this is an election year, the 2012 Summer Reading Program is “Vote for Books!” Participants will be involved in choosing candidates (award-winning books), campaigning for their favorite and electing a winner. This year there is a separate session for teens entering seventh grade and up in the fall. Registration of “voters” runs Tuesday, June 19, through Saturday, June 23.

The first session for teens is Tuesday, June 26, at 6 p.m. The first session for younger “voters” is Thursday, June 28, at 6 p.m.

Story Time will be going on hiatus for the summer. The last Saturday Story Time will be June 30.

The Knit/Crochet Group will continue to meet on the fourth Tuesday each month at 5:30 p.m. through the summer. Everyone is welcome.

As of June 1, the fee for non-resident library cards was raised to $10 per year. Each additional card per household is still only $1 per year.

The staff has been busy weeding outdated and no longer popular items from the collection. These items are available for sale in Elsie’s Re-Read Used Book Emporium. Sorted so far are DVDs, science fiction, preschool board books, juvenile fiction, biographies, Maine collection and books on CDs.
