Talk to be about Bakerstown

MECHANIC FALLS — Eriks Petersons, president of the Mechanic Falls Historical Society, will give a fanciful, quirky, ingenious, imaginative, erratic, capricious and off-the-wall talk on why and how Bakerstown got its name.

Bakerstown was the name given to a certain region of Maine which ultimately turned into Auburn, Danville, Mechanic Falls, Minot, Poland and other domains. The talk will occur at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, upstairs at the Mechanic Falls Historical Society during Mechanic Falls Community Day Celebration. The Mechanic Falls Historical Society dares you to attend and learn a little about history and maybe get some fun out of it as well.
