LEWISTON — Shan Teixeira, owner of Orthopedic & Spine Physical Therapy, recently completed his doctorate in physical therapy through the University of Montana. Teixeira is a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist with 20 years of clinical experience.

Teixeira received his bachelor of science degree in physical therapy from the University of New England and a clinical master’s degree in orthopedic manual physical therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute in San Diego, Calif. He has been published in the Journal of Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy, has taught seminars on arthritis and back conditions and served as a faculty member at the Central Maine School of Massage where he taught anatomy and kinesiology.

He is also certified in ergonomics through the Back School of Atlanta. He practiced in Baltimore and Nashville before returning to Maine in 2000.

Teixeira specializes in treating muscle, tendon, joint and disk conditions or injuries with a unique approach, including “hands-on” manual therapy techniques, functional rehabilitation and advanced pain relieving methods.
