WILTON — Police arrested a man Tuesday after a homeowner came home to find her dog outside and a person she knew fleeing from the house, police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.
Officer Timothy Coombs arrested Kevin Jefferson, 20, of Wilton on a charge of felony burglary, she said. Jefferson was being held Tuesday afternoon on $2,500 cash bail at the Franklin County jail in Farmington.
Wilcox said the homeowner reported the incident to police at 11:30 a.m.
Sgt. Richard Billian Jr. found Jefferson and Maine State Police Trooper Mathew Casavant and his tracking dog, Marcello, were called in. The dog indicated Jefferson was the suspect in the Main Street break-in, Wilcox said.
