Rob Stalford, superintendent of solid waste, Lewiston Department of Public Works, and Megan Bates, assistant director of Public Works, recently were invited to visit Temple Shalom Preschool in Auburn to explain and show the children what can and can’t be recycled. Stalford brought many different types of items. The children practiced sorting the items into the single-stream recycle bin. The theme of the week at the preschool was “Let’s Recycle!” All of their crafts for the week were made using recycled materials.
