Veteran musician Barry Wood will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at the “Music for Mavis” community gazebo in Turner. For more than 60 years, Wood has played with his own bands and then, for the past 10 years, as a solo artist. His music is a mix of traditional country, old pop classics and soft rock of the 1950s-’70s. He has received several awards from country music associations. One of his career highlights is a performance with the legendary Les Paul. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. If it rains, the concert will be moved across the street into Turner Center Church.
