NEW GLOUCESTER — A flea market will be held, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at Amvets Post 6, Route 100.

Marine Corps group to meet
AUBURN — The Marine Corps League Central Maine Detachment will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at American Legion Post 31, Washington Street.

Turner Library book sale July 4, 5
TURNER — The Turner Public Library will be holding its annual book sale on Wednesday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and on Thursday, July 5, from noon to 4 p.m.
The sale will include thousands of books, an especially inviting children’s area and many videos, CDs and DVDs. Hardcovers will be $1, paperbacks 50 cents and children’s books four for $1. Shaker workshop on herbs, veggies
NEW GLOUCESTER — Learn how to make herbal pastes, “salted” herbs, herbal beverages, dehydrated veggies and herb blends at a preserving workshop from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village, Route 26. Betsey-Ann Golon, Shaker Village herbalist, is the instructor. Cost is $40. Preregistration required.
Concert, potluck, gathering
YARMOUTH — On Wednesday, July 4, at 5 p.m., The Dixie Mix will perform at the North Yarmouth Band Stand on the Village Green, Route 115, North Yarmouth. Everyone is invited to bring something for the barbecue grill; hot coals will be provided. Bring along a potluck dish to share.
The concert, potluck and community fun will leave plenty of time to catch fireworks later in the evening.
The concert is free and open to the public. All ages are invited. The Dixie Mix Dixieland Band will perform plenty of great music for the Fourth: old standards and new arrangements, too.

Golden Age Group to meet
AUBURN — The Golden Age Group of the IHM Parish will meet at Taber’s from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 10. Reservations for lunch may be made by calling 576-4082. New members are also welcome to join the meeting by making reservations ahead.
