FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital President Rebecca Ryder announces that Todd W. Miller, MD, has joined the medical staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital as a hospitalist.

Dr. Miller assumed his new position on June 4, joining Dr. David Hyde, Dr. Larry Labul, Dr. Peter Cordner, Dr. Abhishekh Govind and physician assistant Tim Davis in staffing the Franklin Memorial Hospital hospitalist service. Hospitalists are based within the hospital to provide care for seriously ill patients who do not have a physician or whose physician does not provide hospital care.

Dr. Miller most recently served as a hospitalist for seven years at MaineGeneral’s Thayer campus in Waterville. Prior to that, he was a primary care provider at Mid-Maine Internal Medicine in North Vassalboro, providing full-spectrum primary care to adults, as well as hospital care for his patients.

Dr. Miller received his medical degree in 1997 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia, Mo. He completed an internal medicine residency at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center/Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa.

Dr. Miller’s professional interests include palliative medicine and end-of-life care — care that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing life-threatening illness through the treatment of the symptoms, pain and stress of the illness.

Dr. Miller resides in Waterville with his wife and their two children. During his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, and kayaking and hiking throughout Central Maine and the western mountains region.
