Life Line Screening planned

PARIS — Residents living in and around the South Paris community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. South Paris Baptist Church will host Life Line Screening on Thursday, July 12, at 1 Park St.

Screenings are fast, noninvasive, painless, affordable and convenient. Screenings identify potentials cardiovascular conditions as blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease. A bone density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered and is appropriate for both men and women.

Packages start at $149. All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 1-877-237-1287 or visit www.lifescreening.com. Preregistration is required.

With the time for the fair fast approaching, President Dana Hemingway would like to remind all members, and interested volunteers, that help is needed to get the grounds and building ready before the fair and that help is needed during the fair.

Right now there are several buildings that could use a coat of paint and all the fairgrounds need to be mowed and trimmed. The fair has the paint and a riding mower but some of the grounds need a push mower or a weed wacker, which the fair does not have. To volunteer, come to the meeting on July 8 or call Dana at 595-2430 or vice president Bill Winslow at 595-1601.
