DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is there a restaurant in the Twin Cities that makes its own pies and serves in the evening hours? — No Name via email

ANSWER: Sun Spots would get very tired fingers if she tried to call every restaurant in town and ask that question! Readers and restaurateurs, please help.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Saturday, July 14, Danville Junction Grange will be holding its annual indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be tables of baked goods, white elephant items and books. A new feature this year will be a jewelry table. A basket raffle will be held. The luncheon menu includes many delicious choices including steamed hot dogs and hamburgers.

Tables may be rented at $15 each by calling Master Maynard Chapman at 998-5331.

Thank you for helping us out once again. Your service is so much appreciated by the entire community! — Glenys Ryder, Danville

ANSWER: Sun Spots is very sorry this is so late. The Sun Journal’s new email system has Sun Spots flummoxed.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is for Joe, who’s looking for the box score of the first Red Sox game he attended (July 2). I went on a similar mission a while back, and with a few reasonably accurate details I remembered (the more the better), I was able to track down the box score. I remembered that the game was played in August of 1968 or 1969 at Fenway against the Chicago White Sox and Boston lost 3-1.

Using that, I went to www.Baseball-almanac.com. It’ll take some searching around, but if he goes to http://www.baseball-almanac.com/yearmenu.shtml it will bring him the site with the complete listing of box scores and other stats for any given team in any given year. Amazing database. Good luck, Joe! — Andrew Hall, Ajhalllpn@gmail.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Before Service Merchandise closed I saw an end table. It was a waiter carrying a little tray. I’m sorry I didn’t buy it. Now I can’t find it. Can you find one for me? — No Name via email

ANSWER: Sun Spots has never seen such a thing. She looked online, and the only thing she found that remotely matched your request was a “Luigi” waiter table that is “perfect for your gameroom.” You can see it at http://tinyurl.com/8x63hj9. It is $138 at Wayfair.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking for a child’s flexible safety gate that can be sized and surround a child in a room or outside. I’ve seen these gates shaped like an accordion that stretches or made of 10 or so panels that open and can be latched end to end. If you have one and are willing to part with it at a reasonable price, please call or email me. — Anita Poulin, 782-5118, apgraph@roadrunner.com

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you so much to all the readers who responded to my request for coffee cans for our vacation Bible school craft (June 22). Amazingly I have all the cans I need now.

Since that response was so good I thought I’d put out one more request. We are in need of empty CapriSun juice pouches for another craft project we would like to do. We need about 400 of them ! Any response would help. Thanks again so much. — Jane Emery, 783-0037, jd.emery@yahoo.com
