Breastfeeding meeting July 11
AUBURN — Expectant women and breastfeeding mothers are invited to a La Leche League meeting to be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, at 102 Bennett Ave. Babies are always welcome.
This month’s discussion, “Breastfeeding: Great Beginnings For Mother and Baby,” will focus on avoiding and overcoming difficulties.

Lisbon Historical Society events
LISBON FALLS — The following events will take place in July at the Lisbon Historical Society.
On Wednesday, July 11, from 7 to 9 p.m., the society will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the burning of the Worumbo Mill at the MTM Center, 18 School St. Doors open at 6:30. Parking and entrance is in the rear of the building.
Thursday, July 12, will be the regular weekly archive hours from 1 to 4 p.m. at the MTM Center.
An archives open house in celebration of Moxie Days will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at the MTM Center.
On Sunday, July 15, from noon to 3 p.m., there will be an open house at the historic Ridge School on Route 9.

Sabattus Summer Festival on July 12
SABATTUS — The Town of Sabattus is holding its 6th annual Sabattus Summer Festival from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Town Hall. If the sun is shining, the picnic will be outdoors; if it’s raining it will be moved inside.
Residents will enjoy free barbecued burgers, hot dogs and all the fixings. For the kids and kids at heart there will be games and the town’s fire department will be showing off their trucks. Residents should bring a picnic blanket or chair and a big appetite. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Humane Society raffle winners
LEWISTON — Steven Dostie, executive director, has announced the winners of the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society’s Annual Summer Raffle. With more than $6,300 in tickets sales the winners were Lucille Robichaud of Greene, $500 cash; Pam Dunlop of Waterford, $300; Victoria Larson of Windham, $200 and Lorraine Bernstein of Brunswick, $100.
All proceeds from the raffle directly benefit the Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave. For more information about volunteering at the shelter or adopting an animal call 783-2311 or visit www.gahumane.org.
