LEBANON, Maine (AP) — One firefighter has been hospitalized and a dozen others have been treated for mainly heat exhaustion at the scene of a Lebanon house fire.
Lebanon Rescue Department Assistant Chief Jason Cole says the three-alarm blaze destroyed the home Friday night.
Foster’s Daily Democrat reports (http://bit.ly/PX6zBg ) that the blaze was reported about 5:30 p.m. and declared under control an hour later after nearly a dozen departments responded.
The Democrat says the firefighter was taken to a Rochester hospital but there was no word on the crew member’s injuries or condition.
Cole says high heat and humidity made the firefight extremely difficult.
The house was unoccupied. The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
